EHSAL has three locations in Brussels as well as one campus outside the Brussels city limits Home to both the European Parliament and the European Commission the Belgian capital is the real heart of the European Union Moreover a large number of headquarters of European and international organisations are located in Brussels making this cosmopolitan and multilingual city only second to Washington DC as to the number of accredited journalists and the fourth most important location in the world for organising meetings and seminars The seat of 60 foreign banks Brussels is the worlds 7th most important financial market

EHSAL is a member of the Associatie KULeuven the University Association of the Catholic University of Leuven The association is the largest cooperation of universities and institutes of higher education in Flanders 66000 students in 23 cities scattered around Flanders offer an impressive network of Belgian and international partners making it easier for you to change to another degree programme or to obtain an additional Masters degree

Your degree as a launch pad for an international career
In 1999 Belgium together with 28 other European countries signed a declaration agreeing to adopt a common European system of easily readable and comparable higher education degrees Consequently Bachelor or Master degrees obtained at EHSAL will make it easy for you to continue your education or enter the labour market in your home country You can already get a Bachelor degree after a three-year study period Because of EHSALs pratice-oriented approach an all-round academic Bachelor degree will increase your chances on the labour market A Masters degree after you have obtained an academic Bachelor degree requires at least one additional year of full time study
You occupy the centre stage
At EHSAL students occupy the centre stage This vision forms the very base of our educational philosophy Moreover it is also the basic principle of any initiative developed by our University College as well as the creed of our student coaches At EHSAL “letting students occupy the centre stage” is far more than a slogan Whichever degree programme you follow we always take your specific background and experience into account Student guidance is completely keyed to your unique personality But EHSAL goes even further As a student you will also have the opportunity to determine the University Colleges policies And you will be asked to evaluate your teachers
If you register for an international programme at EHSAL you will get our full support The staff members of the Centre for External Cooperation CES are there to make you feel at home You can always turn to a CES staff member should you have any problems They will take care that you are able to live and work in a multicultural environment They will also act as mediators at times of serious or less serious crises They will refer you to any of the several supporting services provided by our University College or a third party Indeed they will do everything to make your studies a success For instance they created a study group for international Bachelor students an exellent approach to maximising your chances of success and facilitating study load concessions And the staff members of CES are also your contact persons for many other more pratical questions They will lend an ear when you have problems of adaptation when you are discouraged have stress are confronted with relational or financial problems … And … they will also organise a great number of off-campus activities that will make you feel at home in Brussels in no time
Studying at EHSAL is of course much more than acquiring knowledge Your education will be one that will prepare for both your professional and personal life On graduation you should also possess many skills ie you should know how to work in a team how to deal with other cultures how to give a presentation how to defend a dossier transnationally how to lead a meeting … These specific social and communicative skills will be taught in special seminars
Neither companies nor organisations need armchair scholars who received a books-only education That is why at EHSAL you will be given a business-oriented education It includes assignments as well as case studies – taken from real business life – and internships The latter may be an internship abroad all internships are screened annually by the CES programme coordinators Top specialists from corporate life will teach you so once you enter the labour market you will possess skills that make you even more valuable to employers And those skills will be much appreciated by companies when hiring professionals
