At AMC our students are central to everything we do because we recognise that our primary purpose is to equip them with the skills knowledge and attributes that they will need to be successful in their working lives We are thus committed to ensuring that the AMC learning experience is of the highest quality
Critical to this is our teaching The AMC Academic Board has introduced a broad range of policies and procedures that have been developed to ensure the quality of teaching within the context of an overall Quality Framework for Teaching and Learning The framework describes how our plans polices and procedures inter-relate with various internal units such as the AMC Academic Board and external agencies such as the Australian Maritime Safety Authority which is responsible for approving seafarer education and training programs in Australia
From 2004 teaching and learning has been guided by the Teaching and Learning Plan The plan is currently being revised in the context of our impending integration with the University of Tasmania UTas which is scheduled to take place formally on 1st January 2008
Further information is provided under the following headings
